Our History, Our Home

Weir Bank Estate is a private riverside estate on the banks of the Thames at Bray-on-Thames, Berkshire — one of the most beautiful and distinctive event destinations in the South of England.

The estate has a long and layered history. Originally a private country house set within extensive Thames-side grounds, it has evolved over generations into something genuinely rare — a working estate that combines natural beauty, historic character and modern event facilities in a single, privately owned setting. The main house was lost to fire in 1970, but much of what made the estate extraordinary remains: the Edwardian grounds, the riverside walks, the mature orchards, the summer house and the private jetty that has welcomed visitors by water for over a century.

Today, Weir Bank Estate is managed by the same team behind Weir Bank Group — an independently owned property business with over thirty years of experience managing and investing in distinctive properties across the South of England and West Midlands. The estate is the heart of what the team does and the place they know best.

The Estate  - Exclusively Yours

What We Offer

The estate is available for exclusive hire for weddings, corporate events, private celebrations, wellness experiences and a programme of our own seasonal public events. Every event held here is managed directly by our in-house team — no agencies, no intermediaries, just the people who know and care for the estate working closely with you from first enquiry to final detail.

Our 16 private acres include a fully licensed marquee for up to 150 guests, expansive gardens, open lawns, a private Thames-side jetty and the flexibility to accommodate alternative structures for larger or more unusual events. The estate sits within the picturesque village of Bray-on-Thames — home to some of the most celebrated restaurants in the country and easily accessible from London and the wider South of England.

 

Our Approach

We believe that a truly exceptional event comes from a combination of three things: a setting with genuine character, a team that genuinely cares, and the kind of personal attention that only comes from working directly with the people who own and manage the space.

At Weir Bank Estate, all three are present. We do not treat any two events as the same, because no two events are. We take the time to understand what you are hoping to create, and we bring the experience, the relationships and the dedication to help you create it.
